How is vocal coaching different from singing lessons?

Singing lessons are generally much more focused on the technical aspects of singing and are often more associated with school aged children preparing for official exams.

While vocal coaching also includes guidance on the technical aspects of the voice, it's much less about learning to sing and more about developing the voice you already have.  

Neither one is better than the other - it's about your needs. Some even say you should have both a singing teacher and a vocal coach!
